  • Insurer to Debut Same Day Auto Claim Payment

    Thanks to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Japan’s largest insurer, Tokio Marine Holdings, announced it will begin same-day claim payments for automobile beginning in 2020.  Reporting the accident, claim settlement and payments will be completed entirely through a smartphone app that automatically locates where the accident took place.  Read more >>

  • Personalized Medicine Approach May Help Treatment Choices.  In a study published in ScienceDirect, the authors describe how a personalized Therapeutic Intervention Fingerprint (pTIF) may predict the effectiveness of potential interventions for Alzheimer’s patients.  They found that this approach predicted the effectiveness of targeting biological factors, such as brain amyloid/tau deposition, inflammation, and neuronal functional dysregulation, to control the patient's disease course.  View article...

  • Healthcare Transitions Matter for Quality Outcomes.  In a recent article published in the Annals of Family Medicine, the authors describe the transition from hospital to home remains hazardous for patients and caregivers.  The authors studied patient and caregivers’ attitudes, concluding that clear accountability, care continuity, and caring attitudes across the care continuum are important outcomes for patients and caregivers.
