MSA News - Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Releases an Updated WCMSA User Guide

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have just released an Updated Workers Compensation Medicare Set Aside (WCMSA) Reference Guide Version COBR-Q1-2015-v2.3 which includes scheduled drug changes and updated deadlines for development letters.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) New Reference Guide for WCMSA specifically adds language to address schedule change for hydrocodone compounds from schedule III to schedule II along with updating the deadline for response to development requests for proposals submitted via the WCMSA Portal to 20 days from the previous 10 days. These new updates will help the Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set Aside review process to ensure compliance with the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
